"My daughter and I bike this trail several times a week. We love it!" - Preserve visitor

Whether you prefer biking, in-line skating, or cross-country skiing, all can travel the 1.8-mile paved East Branch of the Hickory Creek Bikeway. The Bikeway leads from the trailhead at LaPorte Road Access to the Frankfort Town-ship Swimming Pool.

The trail, which passes through the 1,800-acre Hickory Creek Preserve, takes you past habitats each with its own unique flora and fauna. The trail meanders through grassland, floodplain, oak/hickory forest, and, finally, over the swift-flowing Hickory Creek.

If you prefer a grass trail for hiking, there are two short trails, a 0.25 and a 0.5-mile each that travel alongside a pond and among oaks and hickories.

Hickory Creek Preserve - LaPorte Road Access is located on LaPorte Road, 1.0 miles east of Wolf Road, in Mokena.
