This Forest Preserve equestrian preserve offers horse riders a 3.2-mile trail that winds through wooded areas and prairie. The trail can also be used by hikers and cross-country skiers. The trail takes visitors past Spring Creek which abounds with much wildlife including beaver, egrets, herons, muskrat, and fox.

After being closed for a year for site improvements, the preserve reopened in October 2008. The new site improvements included a fenced, free-run dog park. Comprised of four separate enclosures, the dog park provides one enclosure for small dogs only. (A permit is required to use Forest Preserve District of Will County dog parks. Other improvements to the preserve included parking for 50 cards and 20 equestrian trails, a group picnic shelter and shade structures for the dog park.

Homer Trails' 154 acres are located on south Bell Road, about one-quarter mile south of 159th Street (Route 7), in Homer Township.
