Rock Run Preserve - Paul V. Nichols

The Rock Run Preserve - Paul V. Nichols Access is one of several preserves along the Rock Run, a creek that runs from Crest Hill to Joliet. Paul V. Nichols Access provides parking facilities, a small picnic shelter, and a 3.0-mile asphalt trail. The preserve provides an oasis in the densely populated area of west Joliet.

The trail leads to the Rock Run Preserve - Black Road Access Preserve. A short distance in from Paul V. Nichols the trail crosses the Rock Run, with a magnificent view of the wetlands that surround the Rock Run. The trail also leads through an area currently being restored as a prairie.

The Rock Run Preserve - Paul V. Nichols Access is located at the intersection of Essington Road and Ingalls Avenue, 0.5 mile north of Black Road in Joliet.

Hours: Summer 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. or Winter 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
