Gardener, Sugar Creek Administration Center
|
|
Opportunity:
An opening for a gardener at the new Sugar Creek Administration Center, on Laraway Road in Joliet, is currently available.
The administration center, designed to serve as a model of "green architecture," will have extensive landscaping surrounding it in the Sugar Creek Preserve. The gardener will contribute to the outside beauty.
The gardener will perform and assist in the maintenance duties at the preserve. He or she must be in reasonably good physical condition in order to perform light lifting duties.
The work commitment will vary as to the specific needs, but a minimum of six hours per month is required to have an Adopt-a-Preserve sign to be posted at the site. Before a sign is placed, a work commitment of three months' active duty must be performed.
Volunteers will receive District orientation and training to prepare them for their duties.
Additionally, they will receive on-going recognition from their supervisor and other District staff, and are invited to an annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet in April after the year in which they have voluteered.
For information, contact the volunteer coordinator at 815/727-8700, weekdays.
